CAROLINE WOODS
Caroline is hugely involved at Ashfield Stud. She is the daughter of now retired trainer Lindsay Woods. Caroline held her Amateur License for over 20 years and has ridden in more than 150 races including 90 point to points, Fairyhouse and Punchestown Hunter chases, the Punchestown La Touché Cup and Galway Festival hurdle races. Winners between the flags and on the track include a Roscommon bumper where she beat Sean Flanagan in a photo finish! She also completed the Grand National course when she rode her dad's "Younowhat" in the Aintree Foxhunters.
Caroline showjumped for Ireland on several pony teams and won the Millstreet Derby on her full bred Connemara pony "Jo Jo". At university she received Full Colours for achieving excellence in sport having won the National Intervarsity showjumping title before going on to represent Ireland at World Student Games. In 2019 Caroline took on the Golden Button challenge finishing 7th on her first attempt.
A fully qualified Chartered Physiotherapist with an MSc in Sports Medicine from Trinity College, Caroline is the Lead Physiotherapist for the Northern Ireland Men's Soccer Team who recently enjoyed huge success at the 2016 UEFA European Championships in France.
Caroline's extensive experience in dealing with elite human athletes gives her a unique ability to understand equine anatomy and physiology in a bid to achieve peak performance while remaining in optimal health.
